Chiropractic Treatment in Didsbury Village
Your first appointment at Manchester Back Care will involve a detailed assessment of your health, including questions about your current condition, medical history, and general health.
Your clinician will then carry out a physical examination, which may involve you performing a series of movements or actions to help assess your condition. Neurological and orthopaedic tests may also be conducted to assist with forming a relevant diagnosis.
In limited circumstances, your clinician may recommend further tests, such as:
- X-rays
- MRI scans
- Blood tests
These will be discussed with you during your consultation.

What Is Chiropractic?
Chiropractors are qualified health professionals who offer treatment for problems affecting the bones, joints, and muscles that support the body (the musculoskeletal system).
Problems affecting the musculoskeletal system may occur as a result of:
- Accidents
- Illness
- Poor posture
- Lack of exercise
- Sports injury
- Everyday wear and tear
These problems can cause pressure on the nerves in the body.
Treatment by a chiropractor involves manipulation, using very precise handling or movement of the spine or joints to help remedy the problem. Chiropractors may also provide advice on:
- Exercise and stretches

Treatment Plan
Using the results from the assessments conducted, your clinician will form an opinion on the likely causes of any pain, discomfort, or other issues you are experiencing and, if you are suitable for chiropractic care, recommend a personalised treatment plan.
Your recommended treatment plan will be explained to you in full, including costs and any further treatment options. Your clinician may also recommend a series of home exercises and stretches to help optimise your recovery. These will be explained in detail so that you can perform them safely and correctly.
At Manchester Back Care, we treat each patient on an entirely individual basis. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. What may be suitable for a friend or neighbour does not necessarily mean it will be suitable for you, and your clinician will explain each aspect of your personal treatment plan.
If your clinician finds that chiropractic care is not suitable for your specific circumstances, they will refer you to your GP or another healthcare professional they believe may be better suited to your needs.
You can be confident that all your treatment notes will be treated as strictly confidential.
